What to do in Herceg Novi for a three day trip?
Herceg Novi, a city of sun and steps, a city ideal for families and group of friends.
If you are visiting and staying for a few nights only, we would recommend to explore the following ideas:
Day 1
1. Visiting Herceg Novi Old Town and Bellavista square. Have a morning coffee in one of the many caffe bars and restaurants. You choose the view – whether it will be view of the Old Town buildings and Sat kula, or view of the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. While in town, visit the local market for some delicious cheese, prosciutto, fruit or vegetable.
2. Walk down to the coast, straight from the Old Town you will arrive to Skver. A beautiful city marina. There is an open swimming pool, lovely restaurants with a view of many little boats in the marina. You can have a delicous ice cream on Skver!
3. Enjoy the day on one of the beaches along the promenade, but do not forget to keep in shadow for the hottest parts of the day. In one of the many restaurants along the coast, you can have a nice lunch, fish would be ideal.
4. Visit some of the restaurants or bars in the evening for some nice dinner or cocktail. There are many you can choose from, from Verige 65, through Portonovi, Lazure marina, Skver or Igalo.
Day 2
5. Boat tours! Boat tours are the best way, especially in summer time, to explore Herceg Novi and the Bay. There are various tours that can take you to the Blue Cave, panoramic views of Mamula Island, visit to Submarine tunnels, visit to Porto Montenegro and Tivat and tours that can take you to beautiful beaches such as Miriste, Zanjice and Rose.
You can also have a boat tour to Kotor and Perast and you should not miss it! Perast also has its Old Town, with chamring old stone houses, palaces converted in hotels and villas, restaurants with amazing food. Trip to our Lady of the Rock island is something you should definitely do while in Perast. It is a 10min boat drive. The Catholic Church of our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Skrpjela) is the largest building on the island, and has a museum attached to it. There is a special place on the island where you can make a wish and according to the legend, it will come true!
6. After a long day on the boat, filled with swimming, sunbathing and sea fun, enjoy a nice walk along the Herceg Novi promenade. We have some special recommendations of a stunning sea view winery in Herceg Novi or a special restaurant that works only by reservation. Contact us for more information!
